We are Elena and Marius Seifried – parents, creators and founders of beqem.
The idea didn't come from the office, but from real life: Between everyday life, the playground, the washing machine—and a drawer full of broken children's clothes. Our two boys' clothes quickly broke, lost their shape, or simply didn't feel right after just a few washes.
At Marius's parents' house, we came across old clothes from his childhood: soft. Hole-free. Still wearable. And somehow... better. We couldn't get them out of our heads.
Back to quality – Against fast fashion, for favorite pieces
beqem is our statement against disposable fashion. In a world full of excess, we want to return to true appreciation: Buy less. Wear better. Everyone has them – those few items of clothing that you wear again and again because they simply feel right. Our vision: An entire closet full of favorite pieces – starting with your new favorite sock.
Our philosophy: Quality doesn't begin in the warehouse - but in the field.
From the cotton farmer to the spinning mill to the seamstress: every person in our production chain deserves respect, fair conditions and genuine appreciation.
Because only when everyone benefits – producers, logisticians, retailers, customers – can sustainable clothing be created that is good for people and the environment.
Our journey to the best cotton in the world began.
Before the first sock was knitted, our search began: for the best yarn in the world. On this journey, we delved deeply into cotton production, fair trade wool, conditions in cotton fields, and processing.
We deliberately chose:
Giza 94 cotton – one of the finest long-fiber (ELS/Extra Long Staple) cotton varieties, certified by the Egyptian Cotton Association.
