To keep your socks soft, comfortable and colorful for even longer, we recommend the following:
✔ Machine wash at 30 °C – don’t worry, socks in the washing machine will be hygienically clean even at 30-40 °C.
✔ Please do not wash at 60 degrees – Washing too hot can roughen the cotton fibers.
✔ Air dry – please avoid direct sunlight and dryers so that the fibers remain elastic and supple.
✔ Avoid ironing, if desired on a low setting without steam.
✔ No dry cleaning – our cotton doesn’t need any chemicals, just a little care.

01 Egyptian cotton
Our cotton fibers come from a very specific genus of Gossypium barbadense , the Giza 94.
Directly from Fayoum, where the Nile Delta's dry climate and nutrient-rich soil create ideal conditions. This results in extra-long fibers that are picked by hand—not due to a lack of machinery, but out of a personal commitment to protecting the fibers and not placing unnecessary strain on the plant. These exceptionally long fibers are spun into fine, silky-soft yarns, creating a material that is pleasant to the skin, breathable, and at the same time extremely durable.
Locally, the cotton is known as "Egypt's white gold." And just like real gold, there are many fakes. Genuine Egyptian cotton can be identified by the seal of the Egyptian Cotton Association —a symbol that all our products bear.
02 Polyamide | Nylon
The best fiber when it comes to technical performance. Originally developed in the 1930s as a substitute for silk, it is now used wherever clothing needs to be particularly durable. The synthetic fiber is lightweight, stretchy, and extremely robust—we consider it the ideal complement to the high-quality natural fiber of the Giza 94.
The more popular alternative, polyester, is widely used in the fashion world. With its affordable price and wider availability, it's understandable why. Polyester tends to quickly absorb odors in heat and sweat, and in several tests, the fabric quickly felt unpleasantly damp on the skin under stress, making it unsuitable for us for several reasons.
Nylon remains neutral, dry, and reliable—qualities that are important to us. In our socks, it ensures shape retention and supports the longevity of our clothing.

03 Elastane | LYCRA®
Elastane allows for a fabric that adapts and moves without losing its shape.
Our special cotton is durable and breathable, while nylon supports this, enabling peak performance without damage to the material. The targeted use of elastane creates a truly comfortable fit: The clothing follows your movements without you even noticing. At beqem, we use LYCRA®, a elastane that gives our fabric optimal flexibility. Multiple prototypes and long-term tests demonstrate this flexibility that lasts.
